Asus Directcu Ii Drivers
Jan 10, 2015 The ASUS R9 290 DirectCu II is a strong, cost-effective R9 290 card with a modified fan and a slight overclock. It's significantly cooler than the reference 290; in the hot still-in-a-drought city of Los Angeles, it idles at 50C at reaches 75C under load. It's large so if you are worried that it will not fit in your case, you should measure to. ASUS R9 290 graphics cards offer best performance in 4K and multi-monitor gaming 4GB GDDR5 memory for the best gaming experiences in the highest resolutions. Microsoft DirectX 11.2 API Brings new levels of visual realism to gaming on the PC and get top-notch performance.

While the R9 290X with DirectCU II cooler was available with extra stickers, the R9 290 will only be sold with the red ones, at least for now.
The ASUS R9 290 DirectCU II OC (R9290-DC2OC-4GD5, 90YV05F0-M0NA00) as the name suggest is a factory-overclocked solution. It has a GPU clock at 1000 MHz and memory clock at 5040 MHz. These are typically small improvements (compared to other Hawaii-based cards), but that’s not the purpose why this card was made. The DirectCU II cooling solution is expected to provide 3X quieter performance (Decibel scale is not linear) and 20% cooler operation. It has two different fans (one is made in Cool Tech technology) DIGI+ VRM with Supper Alloy Power and other premium components. The thing I don’t like about the new DirectCU II coolers is that they are not dual-slot, but two-and-a-half.
The R9 290 has 2560 Stream Cores and 64 ROPs. It also has 4GB GDDR5 memory and 512-bit interface. It is equipped with 6+8-pin power connectors and may require 600W power supply.
The ASUS R9 290 DC2 OC is already available for pre-order at OCUK, the asking price is £389.99. Card will be available starting from January 17th.

Asus R9 290 Directcu Ii Users Manual Online
Hello there guys firts of all in advance thanks for your answers.
I was talking with Asus chat service about something i notice with my PC, this PC have only 2 days of life it's new, i have the Asus VG248QE 144hz monitor and the Asus R9 290X DirectCU II OC, motherboard Asus Crooshair V Formula-Z and AMD FX-8350 BE, case CM Trooper Rev.2, PSU Enermax Revolution 85+ 1050W, Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB 1866mhz, OCZ Vertex 460 480GB and WD Velociraptor 1TB 64MB cache, so i notice that the normal temp of the video with the monitor at 60hz are about 38-40° with 20% fan speed, when i put the monitor to 144hz via Catalyst 14.4 the video temp go to 49-50° at idle with 20% fan speed sometimes 23%, so i was asking if that is normal because at 144hz when i ran the Unigine Heaven Benchmark with all to extreme the video temp go to 78-83° with a fan speed of 49-51% with 60hz it will be about 68-73° at full load, so i know this videos work with high temps and that the monitor refresh rate are incrementing that temp, i was thinking in putting the fan speed in Catalyst to manual at 60% always, what you recommend me guys or any suggestions or information you have it will be very aprreciate
The other things i was seeing is that this monitor have a gaming mode i will find what that option do and i was thinking about the V-Sync in games, in all the major cases i never activate that option, you know if i work with the 144hz and keep the V-Sync it will not force more the video ?. and you know its impossible inclusive for a 290X to maintain a game like Crysis 3 to more than 60FPS and V-Sync can drop the fps too, so guys give me some advice and suggestions about all i have write and thanks
